Message The lag is minimal, the torque is very nice, and if you ever feel the need to run race fuel you can efficiently turn up the boost.
On pump gas and 17 lbs of boost, my stock turbos on a stock motor put down 372 rwhp and 425 rwtq. Fairly typical numbers. The same boost levels with the T25/T28's nabbed 418 rwhp and 434 rwtq. Car felt like a rocket.
I'll take some heat on this one I know, but I am not so sure I'd spend the $ on the HKS 2530's. I say this for a variety of reasons. I did see Bernie's post of his dyno charts the other day and it showed that at 17 psi they put down 415 rwhp and 402 rwtq - on a motor with heads and cams. Pretty similar numbers as the T25/T28's on a stock motor.
As for the TD05 kit, it is a bit expensive. I will say that the headers do a nice job of reducing lag. Comparing the HKS 2530's to the TD05's on similar motors, the TD05's catch the 2530's at 4,500 rpm.
The separation on the T25/T28's comes here: If you plan on running race fuel, then the 2530's will give you much more power as boost levels rise. My guess would be that at 23 psi, you could expect probably 50 more hp from the HKS 2530's. The difference being that the 2530's are larger and more efficient at the higher boost levels.
